They Work Hard For Their Money

The boys had their 4 month birthday on Wednesday and celebrated by getting dressed up. They were going for a business casual look.

Yes, Drew is holding his Blackberry and somehow managed to buy stock, set up a facebook, and check his fantasy hoops.

Age Ain't Nothin' But...

...a couple of numbers. In the world of multiples you will often see a couple of ages when referring to preemies. There is their age and then there is their corrected gestational age which is their age beginning from their full term due date. So although the boys are 4 months old, their corrected gestational age puts them at only 2 1/2 months old. The corrected gestational age is used to measure developmental milestones. This is hard for me because I'm constantly reading and looking for what they should be doing, and how much they should be eating and have found that the boys are developing appropriately for each age. Some things are what 4 month olds are doing and some things are what 2 1/2 month olds are doing. Don't get me wrong though, I don't need a book or statistics to tell me that my boys are advanced geniuses who also happen to be completely adorable:)

Sheik Isaac

I've got some problems...

As the boys are getting bigger and more active I've discovered that I have got a few problems.

Scratching

The boys' favorite toy is an activity mat with overhead toys and a star that lights up. The toy is meant for one baby and three little heads are competing for real estate on it. Recently their little hands have started wondering and grabbing onto their brothers. Evan is pretty sneaky as he grabs ears while looking the other way. Drew and Isaac are both guilty of this as well. Isaac is the one who gets the most upset when he gets grabbed or scratched. Needless to say activity time has turned into baby cage fighting. E-Man (Evan) also has a problem scratching himself. He wiggles his arms out of his blanket at night and scratched the heck out of his head! Poor guy looks like he ran under a barbed wire fence - and was too tall!

Licking

Isaac. The little guy will contort his body in order to get into a position to suck on the back of his brothers heads. Drew has also started licking heads too. I think that Casey is right when he said that licking is the gateway to biting!! Brewster is also a big licker. He thinks he is being a good big brother by cleaning the babies heads. We really gotta watch the hairy brother:)

TV Watching

Drew loves the tv! What can I say, so does mommy! This guy will turn his head to watch the tv no matter where he is and stare as if he is really into the show. I have always said that my kids won't watch a lot of tv but I have to admit that this comes in handy when trying to feed three babies! Mom of the year...I know.

This Is How We Roll

Now that it is slightly above freezing we have started taking the boys on walks during the day. It is actually quite a production because you have to get them dressed in warm clothes and out into the strollers before they get too hot. Today's walk was tough. Not because the boys were fussy while getting dressed, not because Drew cried most of the time - it was tough because my 15 lb dog decided he wanted to be carried halfway down the street! Brewster is the spoiled baby:)
Here are the boys bundled up in the staging area before their walk.
